Still life painting from early 2023 – Golden Delicious.
It took a lot of time to finish as it is much bigger from my previous paintings. I struggled with the textures – yellow sweater was killing me. The reflections on the blue shirt were a great challenge with all the colours shifting from blue to orange. Apples were fun to paint – it felt so natural to create volume. I usually struggle with shading, but it was not too bad this time. I love the light and vibrant colours. Blue and yellow naturally compliment each other. Definitely a challenge to paint when you had a long break from painting like me.
