Workshop Terms and Conditions

These Workshop Terms and Conditions apply to all in‑person workshops organised and delivered by Mariya McAllister (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking and paying for a workshop via www.mariyamcallister.com (the Website), you (the Student) agree to be bound by these terms, together with our general Website Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. About the Workshops
Our workshops are in‑person art workshops delivered at physical venues in the UK. Full details of each workshop, including date, time, location, duration and content, are provided on the relevant workshop page on the Website and form part of these terms.
Workshops are for personal, non‑commercial learning and enjoyment.
2. Booking and Places
- Workshop places are subject to availability.
- A place is confirmed only once full payment has been received.
- Workshops require a minimum of six (6) students to go ahead.
- The maximum number of students per workshop is twenty (20).
- Your booking is personal to you and may not be transferred to another person without our prior written consent.
3. Eligibility
- Workshops are open to adults aged 18 years or over.
- Children may attend only if accompanied by a responsible adult who remains present for the duration of the workshop.
4. Materials and Clothing
- Art materials are provided unless stated otherwise on the workshop page.
- You are responsible for wearing suitable clothing. Paint and other materials may stain.
- We are not responsible for damage to clothing or personal belongings.
5. Venues and Accessibility
Venue details are listed on the Website for each workshop. We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to venues where necessary. Any changes will be communicated to you as soon as possible.
A change of venue within the same locality does not entitle you to a refund.
Current accessibility information:
- Albert Edward Hall Community Centre – ground floor, wheelchair accessible
- Kingsland Church – wheelchair accessible with lift and stairlift (first floor room)
- EastCoast‑Studios Gallery – not wheelchair accessible
If you have any access requirements or additional needs, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
6. Health and Safety
You participate in workshops at your own risk. While we take reasonable steps to provide a safe learning environment, you are responsible for your own wellbeing.
Please inform us before the workshop of any relevant medical conditions, allergies or health considerations we should reasonably be aware of.
7. Fees and Payment
- Workshop fees are displayed on the Website in GBP (£).
- Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
- Payments are processed via third‑party payment providers or by bank transfer where agreed.
- You agree to provide accurate and complete personal and payment information.
We reserve the right to change workshop prices for future workshops. Price changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
8.1 Cancellation by You
All cancellation requests must be made in writing to artist@mariyamcallister.com.
- Cancellations made 14 days or more before the workshop date:
Full refund minus a £30 administration fee. - Cancellations made less than 14 days before the workshop date:
No refund.
Fees are not transferable to future workshops unless expressly agreed by us in writing.
8.2 Cancellation or Changes by Us
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including (but not limited to) tutor illness, venue issues, or insufficient bookings.
If we cancel a workshop, you will be offered:
- A full refund of the fee paid (excluding original payment processing fees), or
- A place on a rescheduled date, if available.
If we need to make a significant change to the workshop (such as date or format) and the alternative is not suitable for you, you may request a refund.
9. Photography and Marketing
Photographs and short videos may be taken during workshops for documentation and promotional purposes, including use on our Website and social media.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify us in writing before the workshop by emailing artist@mariyamcallister.com.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Teaching Materials and Reference Images
All teaching materials, reference images, tutorials and demonstrations provided during workshops remain the intellectual property of Mariya McAllister or the relevant rights holders.
You may not reproduce, distribute or use these materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
10.2 Student Artwork
Artwork created by you during a workshop belongs to you. You may display or sell the original physical artwork
If your artwork is created using our reference images or photographs, you may not reproduce or sell copies of that artwork commercially (for example as prints, cards or merchandise).
Where work is shared publicly or online, we kindly ask that you credit:
“Painting produced during an art workshop with Mariya McAllister.”
11. Disclaimer
Workshops are educational and creative in nature. We do not guarantee any particular artistic outcome or result.
Nothing provided during the workshop constitutes medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
12. Governing Law
These Workshop Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Workshop Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our Website. Continued booking or attendance at workshops constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
